Dear all
- The planning programme staff met yesterday afternoon to consider how best to proceed in the short term, given the difficulties of the current moment and the concerns students and staff have about the academic programme.
- This afternoon there was still considerable uncertainty on timeframes, but late this evening we have heard the University will open and the academic programme will resume from Wed 28th Oct 2015.
- The University has confirmed the exam period will be shifted further into Nov (i.e. will not start next week as originally planned). We await clarity on the precise dates of the rescheduled exam period.
- For current/ forthcoming course assignment deadlines in the 3rd year specialisms, we suggest a 2-week extension (a principle to be proposed for other courses for the Planning programme). This means the deadlines for submission of assignments due this week are all shifted to the week of the 9th of November. Students preferring to submit earlier (and to move on) are of course more than welcome to submit before that week.
- In some cases an assignment is proposed to fall away, and the % originally allocated to it be re-assigned across the rest of the assignments.
- Face to face consultations can resume as soon as the University is open. In the meantime students are welcome to communicate and consult with their lecturer via email.
